Rammie quickly won over the hearts of hundreds of youngsters in Derbyshire and beyond as, together with Dean Mottram, the person who looks after him, the mascot embarked on a far-reaching community scheme.
Rammie's work includes visits to approximately 200 primary schools every year, where he enthusiastically hammers home the message that Reading IS Fun! It is in these schools that Rammie first started reading Aesop's Fables - tales 2,500 years old that still have a message for young people today.
On this dvd - filmed in the picturesque Derbyshire Dales countryside - Rammie re-tells popular stories such as "The Boy Who Cried Wolf", "The Hare and The Tortoise", "The Dog & The Bone", "The Lion and the Mouse" and "The Traveller and the Bear".
There are nine fables in total and Rammie also has two important messages of his own for children on the subject of stranger danger and road safety. Rammie's experience in schools has taught him a lesson too: that Aesop's Fables are still as magical today as they were for mums and dads two decades ago and grandmas and granddads half a century ago!
The stories on this dvd are designed to appeal to children in the age range of four to nine years.
